Night 1 to 3
  -  On arrival at Nairobi you will be greeted by a Cheli & Peacock representative who will take you through everything you need to know about the logistics of your safari.  (Should you have any problems on your holiday they will also be on hand to resolve them.) You will then be transferred by car to Wilson Airport where you will catch a SafariLink flight to Nanyuki and then change onto a private charter flight direct to Tassia airstrip.  The whole journey will probably take you about two to three hours depending on connection times. The final flight will give you a very good idea about how remote and exciting a lodge Tassia is. It is set right up on an escarpment so offers fantastic views of this beautiful African landscape and is built in a way that means it’s in keeping with its natural surroundings.  It’s simple but comfortable and very imaginative in a positive way.  This is a wonderful place to go on game walks because of the diverse landscape its remoteness.

Night 4  -  On the third morning of your holiday you will catch another private charter to take you directly from Tassia airstrip to Loisaba (about 20 minutes away) where you will be collected and taken to Kiboko Starbeds.  This is a step even closer to your surrounding environment. It is a dramatically designed, handcrafted, wooden raised platform with a partially covered thatched roof and an area for eating and relaxing. From the two ‘bedrooms’ your bed can be rolled out so you sleep under the stars at night.  A team of traditional Samburu warriors will host you making the whole safari experience feel even more unique, exciting and traditional.

Night 5 to 6  -  The following day you will be collected and taken to Ol Malo.  This is a big step up in terms of luxury compared to the previous few nights and yet still offers outstanding views and a very authentic experience.  Here you will get a real sense of what it must be like to live in such a place. This is the Francombe’s home and they have an amazing capacity to make you feel like you’re sharing it with them while also leaving you to have your own independent experience.  Talk to them about how you’d like to fill your day because the choices are extensive.

Night 7 to 9  -  The next leg of the journey is quite hard work but makes reaching your destination all the more rewarding.  There are two flights, one from Loisaba to Wilson (about an hour) and then one from Wilson to Malindi (about 90 minutes).  At Malindi a Delta Dunes vehicle will collect you and take you to the river estuary (about 2 hours away).  This is quite an interesting drive in terms of being able to see a bit of the day-to-day life of Kenya outside parks and is also very picturesque in places.  Your journey concludes with a 20-minute boat trip to the lodge.  So as you’ve probably guessed this is a remote hideaway.  It’s an exciting place to come on holiday because it’s so different.  It’s not about palm fringed beaches and snorkelling but dunes, estuaries, wetlands and mile after mile of beach without another tourist on it.  The accommodation is rustic but very comfortable and nicely finished.  There are lots of different things to do here including boat safaris, creek fishing, kayaking, sand yachting and boogie boarding.  Otherwise just laze around the pool or in a hammock and watch the days drift by.

The journey back to Nairobi is the same as to get here except on arrival at Wilson you will be collected and driven to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your flight home.
