Overview: Ol Seki is for those who want to combine luxury, isolation and good game viewing. Its uncomplicated but luxurious design allows you to feel a part of the beautiful and remote landscape while the tents are thoughtfully placed so you feel on your own to enjoy the 270-degree panoramic views.  In our opinion a contender for the most beautifully finished camp in the Mara.  It also has the advantage of being in an area that has fewer tourists than most, so game viewing feels like a more private affair.

Each impressive tent, with swathes of flowing canvas and expansive wooded floors boasts a double bed dressed in the highest quality linen, a large en-suite bathroom and various pieces of furniture and artifacts that combine to offer a feeling of stylish safari comfort. They are very chic and beautiful and yet retain a natural feel, which is in keeping with its surroundings.  The most amazing thing about them is their setting.  Each is right on the edge of the hill so offers wonderful panoramic views.  One of the challenges as you sit in your deck chair on your balcony or on a sofa in your tent is to see if you can spot any other human presence.  A game you’ll lose.

The library tent offers guests the chance to enjoy a read while soaking in the stunning views of the Koiyaki plains or to share a story with other guests and staff over a drink from their complimentary bar.  Here you will also find a lounge area with soft white cozy sofas and a dining area.

There is an abundance of wildlife in the area allowing big 5 game viewing in a pristine and untouched surrounding away from the hustle of mass tourism. Because it’s outside the National Reserve walking is permitted so take advantage of this by going out a couple of hours before dusk. You’ll get a wonderful feeling for how remote and peaceful it is here. In terms of humans you are only ever likely to come across a roaming Maasai herdsman at most.  Organise it so you rendezvous with a waiting car so you can enjoy that feeling of sitting down in some deck chairs in the middle of the bush, having a drink and a chat and watching the sun set.  When the stars are out in full it’s probably time to return to the dining tent and enjoy a 3 -course selection of international cuisine. For a more romantic setting, meals can be organised in the privacy of your tent, or perhaps a candle lit dinner under the ancient Ndorobo caves.

Day trips into the Maasai Mara National Park can be organised on request, along with a Hot Air Balloon Safari and many more activities.

Sustainable Rating: 4star
