Only Spectacular has been conceived and developed by James Woods. The concept arose from personal frustrations experienced when trying to find special places to stay in Kenya while living there with his family.  

It seemed the only way of finding them was to make a lot of mistakes along the way! So the goal of Only Spectacular was to become a source for a very limited number of properties in Kenya that were all spectacular in their own right and to never list anything average.  

A love of places offering amazing safaris with real character and intimacy, that are personal, small, atmospheric, privately run and in stunning locations helped define the criteria for selection.

We don’t have a team of contributors. We don’t rely on recommendations. We insist that we visit each place ourselves.

We are therefore able to discuss, in detail, the merits and unique aspects of each featured property and the safaris they offer with every customer and give an independent and informed opinion.

We are delighted to be associated with Cheli & Peacock as they are perhaps the most reputable travel businesses in Kenya, with hundreds of their own customers coming though the country every year. They will be responsible for the actual booking of your holiday and ground handling thereafter.   Although Only Spectacular will be available to speak to you at any stage of your holiday, Cheli & Peacock will be ‘on the ground’ throughout your safari to help resolve any issues should they arise.
